About This Attraction

The Raglan Gallery and Cultural Centre showcases the regions talented artists from painters to ceramists, potters and sculptors. Throughout the year the Raglan holds a number of prestigious exhibitions including the Lions/Snowy Hydro Exhibition in February, the Bridgette Mackay exhibition in June and the Brisco Awards in September. The Raglan was built in 1854 by James Hain, and was licensed as the Lord Raglan Inn. It was named after Lord Raglan who commanded in the Crimean War. It was also Cooma

Cooma Monaro Railway

Cooma Railway Station was opened in 1889, and rail services to Cooma ceased in 1988. Visitors can still experience the nostalgia of rail travel on a 1924 rail motor. The rail motor departs the historic railway station each weekend (note, days and times vary seasonally and depending on school holiday periods), and travel north to Bunyan - or further north to Chakola. Charters are available outside regular times.

Mount Gladstone

Mt Gladstone Lookout and Nature Reserve sits in 125 hectares of native bushland less than four kilometres from the edge of Cooma township and offers magnificent views from two easily accessible platforms across the Monaro Plains to the peaks of the Snowy Mountains. There are toilets and barbecue facilities available. Coach and car parking is also available.
